Wizards of the Coast today launches The Wasteland of Eldraine, the new expansion for the world’s oldest and most popular trading card game, Magic: The Gathering (MTG). Returning to the enchanted realm of Eldraine, players are set to encounter fairytale characters revisited in the MTG style. as the characters of Eldraine attempt to save their kingdom from an oppressive curse, a tale of wicked fantasy adventure is about to begin… The Les Friches d’Eldraine expansion was released on Arena on September 5 and launches on tabletop today

Fairy tales revisited
This all-new story takes place after the recent Phyrexian invasion of the multiverse. The citizens of Eldraine have fallen into the Evil Sleep: a curse designed to save the plan from the invaders, but which is slowly putting the kingdom to sleep. A group of fairy-tale characters must now do everything in their power to protect the people of Eldraine from an endless nightmare. Beautiful illustrations and fairytale-inspired mechanics bring the story to life, inviting players to lose themselves in the Wasteland of Eldraine. Meet new characters and reunite with familiar faces such as Kellan of the Fae Blood, Eriette of the Enchanted Apple and the iconic Syr Ginger, who will take part in this magical tale
Fight so that all’s well that ends well
In Les Friches d’Eldraine, it’s up to you to choose the story you want to tell, thanks to new mechanics such as Roles, which will enable players to enchant creatures with different story archetypes, including the Monster, which gives 1/ 1 and Trample, and the Bewitched, which gives 1/ 1 and the ability Regard when attacking. This expansion also introduces Negotiation, which allows players to sacrifice certain cards in exchange for an advantage. To help craft the perfect story, the Adventures so beloved by fans of the Throne of Eldraine return. Sagas also return, offering a unique gameplay experience and a sense of storytelling

Enchant your deck
The beauty of Eldraine will enchant you with magnificent new collectible card treatments. Each Eldraine Wasteland booster will contain at least one card from the Tales of Enchantment collection, reprints of powerful enchantments from Magic’s history. Players will also be able to discover eleven new borderless Storybook-treated cards, including Eldraine’s unique planeswalker: Ashiok. In addition, collectors will be able to get their hands on some twenty mythical and rare cards from the Enchanted Tales, reimagined in a striking style inspired by Japanese animation. Each of these cards will also be available in an even rarer version with a unique Confetti Foil treatment!
