Fusing the worlds of heavy metal music and cutting-edge technology, Finnish death metal band Lordi has teamed up with global technology brand OnePlus to launch its new single: Made of Metal. The song, inspired by the all-metal unibody design of the OnePlus Nord 4 smartphone, celebrates the device’s recent launch and its scheduled release on August 8.
The song is now available on streaming services. This collaboration between Lordi and OnePlus brings together two major players in their respective industries. Known for their unusual costumes and Eurovision Song Contest victory, Lordi has over half a million monthly listeners on Spotify. This collaboration with OnePlus, known for its innovative technology, is one of a kind.
Taking metal to the extreme, the track combines cutting guitar riffs, punchy keyboards and powerful percussion to create an imposing rhythm. The lyrics reference the OnePlus Nord 4’s metal design and capabilities, while celebrating the metal spirit. The chorus “Never settle, I am made of metal” is catchy and memorable.
In addition to the song’s release, the members of Lordi appear in a behind-the-scenes film. The short film shows the band in the studio discovering the all-metal phone and its features. Mr Lordi expresses his distaste for plastic in the film, using the OnePlus Nord 4’s “AI Eraser 2.0” function to make a plastic bottle disappear. The slogan “Never Settle Made of Metal” comes to the fore as the band uses the phone in the film.
