Yo dungeon crawlers! Ravenswatch, the cooperative roguelite inspired by fairy tales and legends, is finally out of its Early Access and into version 1.0. We plunged into this dark and bewitching world to confront the Nightmares, and we can tell you that it’s a blast!
Nervous, addictive gameplay
Ravenswatch features ultra-dynamic action-RPG gameplay. You take on the role of a hero from a fairy tale, such as Little Red Riding Hood, Beowulf or Aladdin, each with his or her own skills and unique style of play. You explore randomly generated levels, slaughtering hordes of enemies, collecting loot and upgrading your character as you go.
Combat is fast-paced and requires good reflexes. You have to dodge attacks, use your skills at the right moment and manage your resources to survive. The game can be played solo, but it really comes into its own when played cooperatively with up to 4 players.
Bewitching artistic direction
Visually, Ravenswatch is a marvel. The game adopts a hand-drawn 2D style reminiscent of fairy-tale illustrations. Environments are varied and detailed, with dark forests, haunted castles and gloomy swamps. Animations are fluid and the visual effects of spells are spectacular.
An atmospheric soundtrack
The music is another Ravenswatch highlight. The original compositions are epic and haunting, and perfectly match the game’s dark, fantastical atmosphere. The sound effects are also well thought-out and contribute to the game’s immersion.
Some areas for improvement
Despite its qualities, Ravenswatch is not without its faults. The difficulty can sometimes seem a little punishing, and some characters are more powerful than others. We hope that the developers will continue to balance the game and add content in future updates.
In conclusion, Ravenswatch is an excellent cooperative roguelite offering an addictive and intense gaming experience. With its dynamic gameplay, spellbinding art direction and immersive soundtrack, it has everything to please fans of the genre.
