Square Enix took advantage of today’s Nintendo Direct (March 28) to unveil the first gameplay trailer for DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake! This compilation brings together the remakes of the series’ first two legendary opuses, and constitutes the chronological sequel to DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake. The game will be released in 2025 on Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam®) and Microsoft Store for Windows.
The Legacy of Elric Continues in HD-2D:
- First Gameplay: The trailer offers a first glimpse of the gameplay and visual universe of these remakes.
- Descendants of Elric: Play as the descendants of the legendary hero, Elric, whose story continues after the events of DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake.
- Elric’s Trilogy: Play the games in chronological order (DQIII then DQ I & II) to experience the famous Elric’s Trilogy in its entirety, or discover this compilation as a stand-alone adventure.
- Acclaimed HD-2D style: Developed by Square Enix’s Team Asano, the game features the HD-2D graphic style, combining pixel art, 3D scenery and modern visual effects. This is the 6th title to use this style.
