The ring beckons again, and WWE 2K25 arrives with all the pomp of a WrestleMania main event. After a few years of fumbling, has the series finally nailed its fall? Let’s take a look at the game.

Story Mode: More drama than a season of SmackDown!

This year’s “MyCareer” mode is a roller-coaster ride. We’re talking backstage betrayals, championship rivalries that degenerate into parking lot brawls, and twists worthy of Vince McMahon. The writing is surprisingly sharp, with just the right amount of quirky charm to keep you captivated, even when the fights get a little… unrealistic. If you’ve ever wanted to live out your wildest wrestling fantasies, this game is your ticket.

Gameplay: more than just button-mashing

WWE 2K25 seeks to flesh out its gameplay. Fights are more fluid, with improved catching and countering mechanics that require a real mastery of timing. New match types bring welcome variety, and environments are more interactive than ever. Crushing your opponent through the commentators’ table is more visceral than ever. However, a few minor bugs persist, and the AI can sometimes seem a little lacking.

Lifespan: Ready for a main event marathon?

If you’re looking to get your money’s worth, WWE 2K25 delivers a performance worthy of a champion. The MyCareer mode alone will keep you busy for dozens of hours, not to mention the Universe mode, online play and the creation of your own wrestling monsters. Basically, if you love wrestling, you’ll be playing this game for a long, long time.

Graphics and Sound: It’s all in the presentation

Superstars look better than ever, with sweat glistening and muscles bulging in all their glory. The entrances are true to life, and the roar of the crowd is deafening. The soundtrack is a mix of rock anthems and hip-hop bangers, perfectly capturing the energy of a live WWE show. Commentary can be a little repetitive, but is still entertaining.

Verdict: A championship game?

WWE 2K25 is a serious contender for the title. It offers a solid wrestling experience with improved gameplay, a compelling story mode and enough content to keep you entertained for months. Despite a few minor issues, the game has progressed well.
