Bordeaux-based studio Motion Twin today announced the roll-out of a major update for Windblown ‘s Early Access: available to everyone, it adds new equipment and offers numerous improvements of all kinds for the ultra-nervous action game from the creators of Dead Cells, playable alone or cooperatively.
In addition to these new features, the studio is delighted to announce that more than 250,000 people have already flitted between the celestial islands of Windblown‘s Early Access since its release last October. To celebrate the event and the arrival of this major update, the game is taking advantage of a 20% discount on Steam until January 2, 2025*.
Discover the main new features of the update:
- New Revenge Mode: following community feedback during the first weeks of Early Access, Revenge Mode replaces the previous Sudden Death multiplayer mechanic to boost players when their comrades fall in battle. You gain speed and power to avenge your teammates, but beware: enemies will become even more ruthless!
- Two deadly new weapons: the Umbrella and the Fiery Claws come with new animations, new critical strikes and powerful Alterattacks to open up new possibilities for Voltigeurs tackling the challenges of the Vortex. Both weapons can be found by completing mid- or end-game challenges, rewarding the most daring with new ways to occiate adversity.
- Four powerful Trinkets: explosive new synergies emerge with the arrival of these new charms, ideal for refining your Bleed and Mark builds. One of them even allows you to summon a robot companion capable of attacking your enemies from a distance!
- Four new Skins: Voltigeurs who dominate the game’s toughest events are rewarded with new cosmetic elements such as Toad and Horned Lizard.
- Russian and German added: it is now possible to enjoy Windblown in Russian and German (text and interface), bringing the total number of languages available to nine. More to come as Early Access progresses!
- A host of other improvements: accessibility options, new cursor pointing algorithms to improve keyboard/mouse handling, and a new Pause option in single-player mode are all part of this update’s exciting program. Last but not least, a whole series of new improvements to existing biomes and enemy behaviors further refine and enhance the gameplay experience.
This Windblown update, and those to come throughout the Early Access period, are based in part on feedback and suggestions from the community.
