Alienware optimizes m16 R2 PC with stealth mode and boosts x16 R2 and m18 R2

Alienware unveils three new gaming notebooks: the redesigned Alienware m16 R2, the ultra-premium Alienware x16 R2 and the ultra-high-performance m18 R2. Inspired by the Alienware community and developed for the most seasoned gamers and enthusiasts, these products are aimed at a wider audience and feature the latest innovations at the cutting edge of technology, design and performance.

Alienware m16 R2: performance for every situation

Users want a powerful notebook PC capable of running the most demanding games, yet portable enough to move around with ease. Alienware has redesigned the m16 R2 to combine performance, flexibility and portability.

The m16 R2 incorporates innovative features, with the design of a new thermal solution making the Cryo-tech cooling system more efficient, within a more compact case. Air flow is 43% more efficient, making the m16 R2 perfectly ready for recently released games.

The elimination of the thermal shelf reduces the depth of the notebook and its footprint by 15%. The new 16″ notebook is now easier to transport and saves desk space, leaving more room for the mouse, keyboard and gaming screen.

The m16 R2 is not only more compact, but also features a wrist rest and a larger touchpad. This is made possible by the design of a slim yet sturdy 180-degree hinge positioned on the rear edge of the PC. Installing the hinge at this point raises the keyboard and enlarges the palm rest and touchpad. What’s more, a larger surface area for cursor control is a real asset when chatting on Discord or browsing the web. The touchpad is also bordered by the RGB stadium loop lighting, positioned on the back in a more visible area. Players will now be able to easily identify the limits of the touchpad in dark environments.

Alienware has integrated a keyboard shortcut that dims the m16 R2’s lighting, allowing it to blend into its surroundings. Inspired by user feedback, Alienware has also introduced a new feature: stealth mode. By pressing the F2 key, the keyboard backlight turns white, all other AlienFX lighting zones are deactivated and the performance mode switches to silent for reduced noise.

Double-click to deactivate stealth mode and regain the full power of Intel Core Ultra H series processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series mobile graphics cards (up to RTX 4070), which pack enough power to run the latest games at high frame rates. For performance-minded and competitive gamers, NVIDIA’s DLSS 3.5 AI upscaling and NVIDIA Reflex latency reduction technology deliver faster frame rates, better image quality and the lowest possible latency, all without consuming more power.

Dolby Atmos functionality makes the user experience all the more immersive: the m16 R2’s optimized dual speakers offer users a spatialized sound experience that allows every footstep, explosion and whisper to be heard with depth and realism.

Fluid gameplay is presented on a QHD , 240 Hz screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio that delivers impressive visuals characterized by crisp detail and rich, accurate colors. Pro-gamers will enjoy smooth, tear-free gameplay thanks to the high refresh rate.

• A 90 Wh battery with NVIDIA Advanced Optimus for intelligent power transfer to optimize energy balancing between CPU and graphics card, so users don’t have to worry about recharging. The m16 R2 can be recharged to 80% in just 35 minutes thanks to Express Charge 2.0.
• Intel Core Ultra H-series processorsand NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series graphics cards combine power and performance, ideal for running the most demanding AI workloads and the latest games at fast frame rates.
