Clive Rosfield and Final Fantasy XVI’s epic Phoenix Gate arena arrive on TEKKEN 8

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has unveiled FINAL FANTASY XVI ‘s Clive Rosfield as the first guest character in TEKKEN™ 8. The main character of the FINAL FANTASY series will join the cast as the next playable character in DLC, with 72-hour early access for Season Pass 1 holders, starting December 16, 2024 and officially released on December 19. This is the fourth playable character in DLC since the game’s launch in January this year, completing the first season’s roster. TEKKEN 8 is available now on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam®.

In addition to Clive Rosfield, the new PHOENIX GATE level is also introduced in TEKKEN 8, a pivotal location in FINAL FANTASY XVI where tragic events alter the destiny of the game’s main character. The destruction of the stage, brought to life by Eikons and stunning special effects, reflects the key moments of his journey to confront his past.

Clive Rosfield and the PHOENIX GATE level will be available to players who own the Ultimate Edition or Deluxe Edition, or the Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack which contains the Character Pass Year 1. Both can also be purchased separately or as a bundle.

To cap off an exciting evening at the Game Awards for fans, TEKKEN 8 also won the award for Best Fighting Game of 2024. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios Inc, the latest sequel to the legendary fighting game franchise is one of the highest-rated in the series, and pushes the boundaries of the genre. The game takes full advantage of the power of the Unreal Engine®5 to create one of the most breathtaking and immersive fighting games ever made, introducing all-new game modes and features, including a new “aggressive” combat system, completely remodeled characters and destructible environments. It also continues the epic saga of the Kazama-Mishima feud in the franchise’s acclaimed story mode, now focusing on the rivalry between Jin Kazama and his father Kazuya Mishima, and bringing back legendary and previously “completely dead” characters Heihachi Mishima and Jun Kazama.
