SQUARE ENIX® today announced that DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake, the RPG described by IGN as “a shining example of a remake of a classic RPG”, has surpassed 2 million copies sold worldwide across all formats. The game, released worldwide on November 14, is currently available for Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on Steam® and Microsoft Store.

Acclaimed by critics worldwide, DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake is a full remake of DRAGON QUEST III (released in 1988) in HD-2D, an original style that blends pixel art and 3D graphics. The franchise’s iconic story and turn-based combat remain faithful to the original, but the game also includes a variety of new features, including voice-overs for cutscenes, orchestral music, the new vocation of monstrologer, the Monster Arena for additional challenges, and new story episodes focusing on Ortega, the main character’s father.

Fans will also find the famous story of DRAGON QUEST III, the first episode in the Elric trilogy. The story has been reworked to be more consistent with the events of DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake, due for release next year.

DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake is ideal for people who loved the previous version of the game, for those who are new to DRAGON QUEST, but also for players of all ages, or who don’t usually play RPGs.

DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D REMAKE is now available on the following stores: Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and Steam. For more information, visit https://dragonquesthd2d.com.
