If you’re following me, you already know what One More Gate is! One of the titles that has thrilled me the most since early access. For those who don’t know what it’s all about, One More Gate features Oropo, a well-known character from the Wakfu series, in a unique Deck Builder adventure.
In a nutshell, you build your deck in a hub, then go from level to level in increasingly difficult battles, ending in death. Then you start all over again, improving your deck and so on until you win. Well, in a nutshell, because the title has its own mechanics that make it one of the musts of the genre.
At Gamescom… No big surprise, as I already knew the title inside and out. This gave me the opportunity to take my time and talk to the team about the future, the post-One More Gate era, and to scratch off the September 12 release date. So yes, we’ll soon be going back to the title to turn it on its head once more.
But that’s not all, I was also able to learn that a version on Nintendo Switch is in the works, and that’s top-notch for a game of this genre. Unfortunately for me, it was impossible to see the title in action, as the demo Switch had left for a pro meeting… The last straw! Joking aside, go for One More Gate, the team behind it is top-notch and the community feedback has been very well received. You can feel that the title has been carefully crafted to be a benchmark for Ankama.
