“This translates into the use of ancient instruments, such as the bell fiddle or the hurdy-gurdy, whose sounds are distorted to create a sound halfway between the Middle Ages and more modern times,” explains Markus Zierhofer. “We’ve also made sure that the soundtrack adapts to the player’s actions. For example, the music can be intensified by superimposing musical layers when you face a multitude of enemies at once, or when your combo gauge increases.”
