Electronic Arts Inc (NASDAQ: EA) and Hazelight Studios are proud to unveil Split Fiction, an action-adventure game that pushes the boundaries of cooperation more than ever. The Hazelight Studios team behind the 2021 Game of the Year It Takes Two, which has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, returns with a unique split-screen co-op action-adventure game in which players can oscillate between two universes, one sci-fi and the other fantasy. Armed with a wide range of abilities that change according to the universe, the game’s two heroines Mio and Zoé will have to help each other to recover their creative heritages and discover the power of unexpected friendship.

At Hazelight, we’ve been creating cooperative games for 10 years, and with each title we go beyond what fans of the genre expect. I’m very proud of what we’ve created with Split Fiction. I guarantee that this game will blow your mind,” says Josef Fares, Founder of Hazelight Studios. ” As Mio and Zoe move from the world of science fiction to that of fantasy, we’ve been able to do some really extraordinary things in terms of gameplay and storytelling. This is clearly our most epic co-op adventure to date.”

In Split Fiction, players will discover many of the mechanics and skills typical of science fiction and fantasy. They’ll have to escape the transformation of a sun into a supernova, challenge a monkey to a dance contest, perform ultra-stylish tricks on a hoverboard, battle an evil kitten and ride unusual contraptions, from gravity bikes to sharks. In totally different worlds, surprising challenges await them at every turn.

Meet Mio and Zoé, two screenwriters with very different backgrounds – one specializing in science fiction, the other in fantasy – who find themselves trapped in their own stories after being snatched up by a machine designed to steal their creative ideas. To get from one universe to the other, they’ll have to work together and master a host of skills to free themselves while keeping their memories intact.

Its through playing extraordinary cooperative titles together that friendships and unforgettable memories are created, and in this area, no one does it better than Hazelight,” explains Jeff Gamon, Managing Director of EA Partners. ” We’re delighted to continue our long-term partnership with Josef and his talented team to bring to life an innovative new collaborative adventure that continues to push boundaries and redefine what players can experience on and off screen.

A key feature of Hazelight Studios, the Friend Pass, which allows someone who owns the game to invite another person to play for free, is back. It’s even been enhanced with cross-platform options enabled for PlayStation, Xbox and PC via Steam.

Split Fiction will be available on March 6, 2025 on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and EA app for €49.99.
