Hecate, SMITE 2’s first exclusive divinity, is revealed

Titan Forge Games today revealed Hecate, one of the community’s most sought-after deities, as the first exclusive addition to SMITE 2. The Greek goddess of sorcery joins the list of deities available during the Alpha period of the sequel to SMITE, the award-winning third-person action-MOBA. The character’s unique abilities, ethereal charadesign and visual effects have been made possible by SMITE 2 ‘s transition to Unreal Engine 5.

In this week’s video, the developers take a look at Hecate’s development process and how Unreal Engine 5 gives designers greater influence over the character prototyping phases.

Hecate’s abilities are the result of these changes. Crossing Worlds modifies the appearance of the world for Hecate and enemy deities affected by the spell. Spell Devourer is another unique ability that allows Hecate to charge an Orb during intense combat to inflict damage based on the abilities of nearby allies and enemies.

Players can now add SMITE 2 to their wish lists on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox and Epic Games Store, and sign up for access to alpha testing on SMITE2.com. SMITE 2 Founder’s Edition bundles, soon available for purchase, will guarantee access to Alpha testing.
