The « Modstand » edition offers players two very different perspectives of the Resistance during World War II, through the stories of two women: Gerda and Liva.
Gerda is a nurse who leads a quiet life, but finds herself involved in the Resistance after her husband, Anders, is arrested by the Gestapo. She is a kind-hearted person and tries as much as possible to avoid conflicts. Unlike Gerda, who takes an empathetic approach, Liva, who has been a member of the Resistance for some time, does not hesitate to resort to violence. After a failed mission, and now leader of the Resistance, she decides to regroup her troops in Tinglev. There, she will have to make her voice heard and prepare herself for the coming battles.Liva’s Story offers another look at the war, through the eyes of a woman, leader of the Resistance. Desperate and discouraged after being forced to retreat, Liva remains focused on her mission: to regroup her members, reconstitute a team and strike again at the enemy, using sabotage, infiltration, espionage, and even assassination. Liva is not afraid to use violence and often has trouble distinguishing between revenge and justice. Players will have to balance her fury at the enemy, her duty to her mission and her country, and her concern for her team.
Liva’s events take place a few weeks before Anders’ arrest and the beginning of Gerda’s adventure. Each story is independent, so players can choose to start these adventures in any order they wish.
To celebrate the launch of Liva’s Story and the Modstand Edition, a free demo of Gerda: A Flame in Winter (without the DLC) is available starting today on Steam. |
