| OCTOPATH TRAVELER II tells an epic new story set in a new world, unrelated to the original title. Players will meet eight new characters and discover new features and gameplay elements.OCTOPATH TRAVELER II ‘s iconic HD-2D graphics, blending retro 2D characters and 3D environments, make it an ideal introduction to the franchise for those who are new to it, while preserving the charm of the original game for those who already love it.
The game offers a mix of new and familiar features and elements, including:
- Rift and Exaltation battle modes: strategy is required to take advantage of enemies’ weaknesses to inflict more damage by causing a rift, and to upgrade companion skills in Exaltation mode.
- Special Actions: Players can interact with NPCs on the continent using character-specific actions, such as challenge for the swordsman, and theft for the thief. Special actions also vary depending on the protagonist and the time of day.
- New Story and Characters: Players embark on a grand adventure on the new continent of Solistia, and discover the intertwined stories of eight new companions: Hikari (Swordswoman), Agnea (Dancer), Partitio (Merchant), Osvald (Scholar), Throné (Thief), Temeno (Priest), Ochette (Hunter), and Cattsi (Apothecary)
- Day/Night Cycle: The villages and special actions available to each character change day and night, creating more opportunities for exploration and discovery.
- Energy Reserve: A new combat feature that allows characters to unleash a powerful skill once the gauge is filled during combat.
- Intersecting Stories: Additional stories unfold between the protagonists as they adventure, intertwining their stories even more closely.
TheOCTOPATH TRAVELER II Prologue demo is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam). It allows you to choose any of the eight protagonists and play for three hours. The save data can then be transferred to the full version of the game.
