SQUARE ENIX® announces the release of FINAL FANTASY™XIVOnline: Dawntrail™, the new expansion for the critically acclaimed MMORPG game, scheduled for summer 2024.
Producer and director Naoki Yoshida revealed the name of the upcoming expansion during his keynote speech at the FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2023 in Las Vegas, with the new pre-release trailer following suit, offering an exclusive glimpse into the upcoming adventures of the Warrior of Light in Tural, aka the « new world »
The new expansion will feature a plethora of new features. These include an increase in maximum level to 100, new jobs, new areas to explore, a new tribe of beastmen, original dungeons, ALEAs, hunting contracts, treasure hunts and side quests. Here’s a non-exhaustive list of exclusive content:
Set sail and discover the new continent of Tural and its capital Tuliyollal
Explore new areas, such as the mountains of Urqopacha and the forest of Yak T’el
Meet new tribes of beastmen, such as the Pelupelu, the colorfully masked inhabitants of Urqopacha.
Maximum level increased from 90 to 100
New jobs available
New ALEAs and hunting contracts, new treasure hunts and side quests
New epic dungeons
New enemies to face, including the mythical Valigarmanda
Updated reinforcement system
New equipment and recipes
New relaxation content

FINAL FANTASY™XIVOnline: Dawntrail will also see its first graphics update, focusing on the game’s characters and settings.

The FINAL FANTASY XIV Online free trial will also be back, more generous than ever, with Update 6.5. It will now cover the content of the Stormblood™expansion (up to update 4.58) with the Red Mage and Samurai jobs included. All new players will thus be able to enjoy the Eorzean adventure up to level 70, with no time limit.
Much to the surprise of the audience, Naoki Yoshida was joined during his keynote address by Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, to announce the long-awaited porting of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online to the Xbox X|S Series for Spring 2024. An open beta version will be available as part of the 6.5x updates. Exclusively available in digital format, the game will benefit from 4K resolution on the Xbox Series X. Finally, Naoki Yoshida mentioned the upcoming collaboration with Fall Guys, the Battle Royale obstacle-racing game produced by Mediatonic. The « Warriors of Light VIP Pass » will land in Fall Guys on August 22, 2023, while FINAL FANTASY XIVOnline will welcome a new Fall Guys-inspired attraction within the Gold Saucer in 6.5x updates.
