Private Division and Intercept Games are proud to announce that Kerbal Space Program 2 is now available in early access for €49.99 on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Private Division Store and other digital platforms. Kerbal Space Program 2kerbal Space Program 2, the sequel to the world’s best-selling rocket simulator, marks the beginning of a new generation of space adventures by allowing players to create their own space program with hundreds of new and improved parts, optimized gameplay for new and old players, updated graphics, shimmering, realistic environments with unprecedented detail, customizable color schemes for ships and more. Kerbal Space Program 2 has been redesigned from the ground up to serve as a foundation for successive new features in the years to come.

Kerbal Space Program 2 offers almost infinite possibilities in ship construction. This sequel features over 350 original and enhanced parts including procedural wings, new command pods, engines, wheels, cargo parts and the first of many advanced fuels: liquid hydrogen. The game also contains a new part size category, paving the way for future interstellar parts as the game develops. Players will also be able to use the new coin coloring tool to customize their pieces and make them completely their own.

« We are very excited to see Kerbal Space Program 2 released in early access, » shared Nate Simpson, Creative Director at Intercept Games. « After building a game with an unprecedented level of technical complexity, we can’t wait to see the creative output of our community. We also look forward to reading and hearing their feedback directly as we move into the collaborative phase of the game’s development with early access. »

This eagerly anticipated sequel welcomes new generations of space explorers with a series of interactive, animated tutorials teaching them the basics of rocketry in an immersive and fun way. Players can also expect many other enhancements, including a new user interface, more intuitive vehicle assembly tools, and new Map Screen iconography that allows trajectory data to be visualized more clearly than ever before.

Fast forward now allows players to speed up time even during acceleration phases, a small revolution for long interplanetary flights. The fast-forward controls also allow interaction with the vehicle’s paused systems, giving players the ability to send commands as they wish while time is stopped. These last-second changes will prove invaluable in the event of a crash landing (which is sure to happen!).

In addition, Kerbal Space Program 2 offers a greatly improved graphical and audio experience. All of the celestial bodies from the first game have been recreated using a new terrain generation system to achieve an unprecedented level of detail and variety. The Kerbolar system is now full of new points of interest to discover. Sound effects enhance the player’s immersion with recordings of real rocket launches and a musical soundtrack that changes dynamically with the flight conditions.

« With Kerbal Space Program 2we have laid a foundation that we intend to build on for years to come, » said Michael Cook, Franchise Director on Kerbal Space Program 2 at Private Division. « Early access is just the beginning of the journey. We plan to release several major updates that will culminate in the 1.0 release. »

After the release of Kerbal Space Program 2 in early access, Intercept Games will continue to add new and innovative features in the following months. Some of the future features include:

  • Next-Generation Technology: Players will be able to research futuristic technologies that allow them to build ever larger structures and use new fuels and propulsion systems. These new tools will allow them to venture beyond the boundaries of the original Kerbolar system and into unexplored star systems.
  • Colonies: This new option is one of the most requested and anticipated in the new game. Players will be able to search for and extract valuable resources and then use these materials to build custom bases on distant celestial bodies or in the depths of space. Not only do colonies offer their own physical construction challenges, they are also a necessary step on the path to space and interstellar exploration.
  • Interstellar Travel: KSP2 will offer new interstellar navigation challenges for players. They will have to venture into the depths of interstellar space aboard nuclear-powered megaships capable of reaching unimaginable speeds. Upon arrival in a new star system, they will be able to deploy landers and rovers to explore these planets waiting to be discovered.
  • Multiplayer: Players will be able to either cooperate or compete with their friends to explore space together and reach historic milestones in their own version of the space race. The multiplayer mode opens the door to endless potential for adventure, completionism, and « accidental » collisions.
  • Modding: Kerbal fans are looking forward to reaping the rewards of the wealth of mods available in the first game, and Intercept Games plans to make the new game even more mod-friendly by providing the necessary tools for this community.
  • And more: Early Access will be updated regularly with quality of life improvements, bug fixes, new features and more! Follow us to make sure you don’t miss any news.

Private Division and Intercept Games also announced today an official partnership with Logitech G, a major innovator in the gaming technology and hardware industry, for Kerbal Space Program 2. Gamers will experience unparalleled immersion with Logitech G peripherals and enjoy lighting integrations that reflect the intense stages of a takeoff.
