Today, The Pokémon Company revealed a new character named Friede and her Pokémon partner, Captain Pikachu, who will be featured in the new Pokémon animated series to be released worldwide beginning in 2023.
Friede, a Pokémon Professor, and Captain Pikachu will help the two protagonists, Liko from the Paldea region and Rhod from the Kanto region. They will experience extraordinary adventures in the world of Pokémon, as they try to solve the mystery of Liko’s pendant and Rhod’s Poké Ball.
« The world of Pokémon is expanding and evolving, and fans will be able to embark on an action-packed journey of adventure and friendship through the eyes of new characters like Friede and Captain Pikachu when the new series debuts this year, » said Taito Okiura, vice president of marketing at The Pokémon Company International. « For 27 years, Pikachu has represented the Pokémon franchise, and we look forward to seeing this beloved Pokémon continue to have a significant presence in the animated series and remain the brand’s icon. »
