At Gamescom 2023, we were lucky enough to be able to cut the queue to get our hands on Hyenas. It’s fair to say that we’ve been waiting for this game since it was announced, and finally getting our hands on the title is a blessing in disguise
After a gameplay presentation video. (which is also the beta tutorial), we were able to pick up a character and go on the attack. Not without difficulty, as my allies simply didn’t understand English
For my part, I chose a versatile character with drone control. And the goal is simple: blue zones are mandatory boosts for UP your character. On the other hand, the yellow zones require you to overcome a salvo of enemies and open a chest to retrieve your precious sesame
We’re not going to lie, the fact that we had no communication made things so complicated that we were the first team to be eliminated. But it was fun to see the possibilities the title has to offer, just hope that the map presented isn’t the only one. Because if it is, we’ll quickly go round in circles. Even if the title does offer quite a few characters, each with their own unique powers
Incidentally, I tried to ask the person in charge of the title about the probable release date, but all he said was: I’d like to tell you, but I can’t, as the game isn’t fully ready yet
So to be continued, but in the meantime it’s in my top 10 of the FPSs I’m most looking forward to.
