Nacon teams up with Teyon, the studio behind Rambo and Terminator. And knowing that they’ll be at the helm of Robocop can be a little frightening. But there’s a big surprise in store: you can feel the studio’s love of action films, and the little cherry on top is that it runs on Unreal Engine 5!

The most famous robot cop.

If we take Terminator Resistance as an example, the title doesn’t break any new ground. This is an FPS with a lot of narrative. Add to that the possibility of upgrading skills and various side quests, and you’ve got the best Robocop game to date.

The title lets you move freely between quests to do whatever you want and learn more about the world of Robocop. You’ll even be able to write parking tickets, so yes, there’s plenty to do. The best part is that you can visit the police station from all sides, and chat with a number of NPCs.

As for the gameplay, remember that you’re playing Robocop, a war robot who can take a lot of punishment before dying. You can feel the robot’s power in its movements, which make perfect sense for the character. We’re rather slow and rigid, because so is the robot in the film.

I am the law.

Between gun fight and investigation. The main story requires you to pass through various corridors and smash everything in your path. And let’s just say that it’s a straightforward affair. It’s a lot of fun to massacre dog punks who want to take their drugs to the streets.

If the game doesn’t shine in these sequences, remember that this isn’t AAA. But an AA. And it’s the whole package that makes this title a must-have. For, in addition to offering nervous passages and quieter ones of investigation and story. We’re also treated to a soundtrack taken from the movies, as well as sound effects. And it’s worth pointing out that this is a tribute to the 80s that we’d like to see more of.

The title’s content is generous, offering many hours of gameplay in a deep, coherent universe. We loved the new take on the Robocop universe, while remaining totally faithful to the films. It should also be noted that the game was not released on older generations. So the studio was able to take full advantage of the Unreal Engine 5 without going too far. The only real drawback of the game on console is that it’s poorly designed for stick aiming. This means that many of your shots will be imprecise. It’s a pity, because that’s really what frustrated us most during our long sessions.

So, what can we say about Robocop? Well, if you like action-packed 80s movies. That if Robocop rocked your childhood when you weren’t old enough to watch the film, but were rocked by it. You’ll be in heaven!
