Instilling a dark and poignant industrial musical atmosphere in keeping with Max’s deplorable mental state, as well as the heavy atmosphere of the Max Payne series, HEALTH’s music for Max Payne 3 has taken their melancholy noise rock sound in a new direction; the track « TEARS » has become a staple at the band’s live shows.
First released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2012, and now available on the Rockstar Games Launcher and via backwards compatibility on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, the third installment of Max Payne’s adventures offers a fluid and detailed cinematic experience that combines state-of-the-art shooting stages with a dark and complex story that will take Max from the streets of New York to the favelas of São Paulo.
While the game has been praised for its breathtaking action sequences and innovative use of Bullet Time® (popularized by the series), its soundtrack has also won praise, with Vice, Pitchfork, Kotaku, Game Informer and others praising its original approach and melodies.
