Figment was one of the cute titles released in 2017 that is based on what happens in the heads of people during a certain passage of their lives. The music, the AD or even the puzzles that the title offered had been received by the public positively to the point that the sequel was eagerly awaited.
Return of the nightmares.
Figment 2: Creed Valley is a direct sequel to the first title. But the studio has been listening to its audience with a lot of promises so a co-op mode. The title is done in about 6 hours in a straight line, but gives desire for more.
Figment 2 goes a long way in explaining why the Spirits have come to this point. We have the right to various cinematics of the life choices of the people to finally know why they arrived there.
All of this begins when we fight a nightmare called jester in the love of a man exhausted by his work. Except that nothing will happen as planned and Jester will appear symbolizing madness. From here, we will not say more. So much the history is let devour. But the whole staging of the moment of nightmares to madness is just a nugget.
If the title seems less long and less difficult than the first. However, we take pleasure to search all the corners of the universe. This allowed us for example to finish that the title has 100% in one game. What frustrated us so much we wanted more. The duo Dusty and Piper remains a duo that works wonderfully. Especially for those who have played the first title, who will quickly realize that even their mechanics are identical. Maybe we would have liked more diversity and novelty in this game.
The same ones and let’s go.
If the situations change, the gameplay remains unchanged. So much so that it remains exactly the same as in the previous game. The only real addition is a jump attack and a multiple attack, but at the expense of the charged attack. The other change will also come from the memo shards that you’ll have to collect to unlock the memories. Not much to write home about. But on the whole, it works.
However, the fact that it is based on the first game reassures us that the puzzles are well thought out, with varied and effective combat. The rest of the changes will be more about the reality disruptors that will change the flow of the levels.
Finally, what more can be said about this cute and addictive title? Maybe the co-op mode is not what we expected as we are on a co-op where the other player is helping to heal the first one more than to really play. Which is a pity as the title could afford it. Basically, this is a title to be played by everyone and for those who didn’t play the first title… What are you waiting for?
