Well, let’s not go into detail. Xiaomi is a brand that in Lev3lup surprises us more and more. And to have spent a year with the Xiaomi 12, we could see its strengths and weaknesses. Xiaomi proposed us this time to test the 12T PRO. Meaning that it will be THE smartphone representing all the best in the 12 model before the arrival of the 13 models in early 2023.

The best of Xiaomi.

It’s been a while since Xiaomi offers 3 basic models of its smartphone and a new version plumard in the year erasing a little the defects of them. And the addition of the 200 megapixel sensor alone proves that Xiaomi wants to offer the best.

Moreover, the price of the smartphone at 799€ proves that the brand wants to offer the best with an ultra aggressive price. With such a price, the smartphone directly opposes all the competition and is with a state-of-the-art Tech.

It looks like a 12 PRO

We will not lie, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is similar to the 12 Pro. And the finishes were already sublime on the base model. So it’s only logical that it’s the same here. It is a little different on these dimensions, but almost nothing.

The same goes for the screen side, no change to report, we are still on a slab that has proven itself. Only the edges seem a little thicker. This does not disturb the grip, but gives it a slightly different look. We will also note in passing the IP53 standard on the smarpthone. Yes, an IP standard at Xiaomi, we had to highlight it as it is rare. Well, still no IP68. But we take.

A little more powerful.

Small change too, since Qalcomm has meanwhile updated these processors. So the 12T Pro hosts a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with 8 gigs of ram and 3 gigs of virtual ram. We won’t lie, it makes the coffee and flips the pancakes if you want to play with the smartphone.

And the photo?

Well, 200 megapixels is still visible. If the basic sensor is at the bottom. We will note that its 50 and 200 megapixels as for them saves all the photo part. The 50 Mpx doing its job without blushing with photos with average weight. Most of the time, we will use this one.

On the side of the 200 Mpx. The on the other hand keeps in sharpness, in details, etc. But the disadvantage will come that a shot in 200Mpx is heavy and that to use it in loop will just saturate your memory has an ultra fast speed.

Finally, the ultra wide angle sensor is amputated to be an 8Mpx which certainly does the job. But remains quite limited. Well, we will not cry scandal, because it is precisely due to a choice. The 200Mpx taking up space and the rest.

Let’s not forget the front and the video! We find a 20 megapixels. So, yes, it is good and will make beautiful shots for your social networks. Beware, however, of overexposure which may spoil some shots. On the portrait side, on the other hand the software manages to do the job completely.

The video on its side is top and allows to push the smartphone to 8K/30FPS. YES, this is a totally unnecessary resolution, but the smartphone allows it. Especially since it is equipped with an OIS to limit the shaking in video. A must have.

Finally, what more can be said about this smartphone that fulfills everything we expect from a smartphone at this price? Even the 5000mAh battery does the job by holding in normal use 16 hours. And it’s rare to see a smartphone that lasts so long, especially since the fast charges have arrived to fill the gap of a battery that drains at high speed.

We are totally won over by this model and we are curious to see what the 13 and 13T models will offer later this year. Xiaomi is managing to hit harder and harder!!!
