Atari goes back to its horrific roots with Haunted House, a Roguelite revival of its very first survival horror game, released in 1982 on the Atari 2600. Now reimagined as an infiltration horror adventure by Orbit Studio, creators of Retro Machina, Haunted House will be released on PC and consoles on October 12, 2023

With its unexpected macabre charm, Haunted House draws inspiration from the classics while incorporating modern features, creating a unique 2D isometric horror experience where stealth and strategy take precedence over thrills .
In Haunted House, players take on the role of Lyn Graves, the niece of renowned treasure hunter Zachary Graves. When Lyn learns of her uncle’s disappearance, she and her friends head to his mansion to investigate. Before long, Lyn’s friends have disappeared, forcing her to search for them too. To find Lyn’s uncle and friends, players will have to battle shifting walls, unpredictable enemies and all manner of traps to put an end to the ghosts that have infested the manor . If Lyn succumbs to an evil spirit, players will find themselves at the entrance to the haunted house, confronted by an entirely new floor layout and differently arranged enemies, guaranteeing a unique experience with every attempt

Each character has its own unique characteristics, offering a totally new experience depending on who players explore the mansion with!
- Lots of Atari Easter Eggs: the game is packed with collectibles and easter eggs based on the original Haunted House game, as well as other classics from Atari’s golden age. Players will be able to search for them and collect them for rewards!
- Did we say “stealth”? as the number of battles has been reduced, players will have to concentrate on stealth and solving puzzles, using the arsenal of traps and objects at their disposal.
