Winners of the Pokémon International Championships of Europe 2022 honored in Frankfurt, Germany

Pokémon players from 40 countries and regions gathered in Frankfurt, Germany from April 22-24, 2022 at the first International Championships of the 2022 Championship season.

From April 22-24, Pokémon fans and players from around the world gathered in Germany at Messe Frankfurt for the Pokémon International Championships of Europe 2022. Players competed in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games, the first Pokémon GO International Championships in partnership with Niantic, and Pokkén Tournament DX. Over three days of intense competition, Trainers from the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon video games battled it out to win the title of International Champion and secure a spot in this year’s Pokémon World Championships, which will be held in London, England from August 18-21. Pokémon GO and Pokkén Tournament DX players also competed for a spot at the 2022 Pokémon World Championships. This year’s champions received a special Pokémon trophy, scholarship and cash awards, as well as many thousands of dollars worth of prizes across the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon video game, Pokémon GO and Pokkén Tournament DX competitions.
